Chapter 4 | A reflection on summer

Lantic was born in 2018, but our second gin, our Summer Foraged Gin, came about in 2020.

In fact, it was lockdown itself that gave me the inspiration. Nurturing time outdoors even more than I did before, I rediscovered the amazing plants and flowers of the spring and early summer.

I’d come across and experimented with many of those flavours before, but none had made it to the original Lantic Gin.

I knew there was more to be unlocked so I set about experimenting once more. Soon I’d created what would become our Summer Foraged Gin, bottling the experience of early summer dawning.

Coastal Wildflowers

The plants and flowers used to craft our Summer Gin are only available for a short window each year. It means anything we make it limited each year, and a true reflection of the season in which it is crafted.

We’re now coming to the end of summer, but you can still enjoy the taste of it while we reminisce of this year’s sunny(ish) days!
